Frothy Monkey expanding to Chattanooga

First store outside of the greater Nashville area

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) April 6, 2016 — Chattanooga’s Southside becomes the next neighborhood to gain a Frothy Monkey. Frothy Monkey was approached by the owners of Chattanooga’s historic Choo Choo hotel to add a much needed option to not only the hotel guests, but also to the neighborhood. The (Choo Choo) owners have invested a great deal of time and money into rethinking the hotel and the surrounding area. Frothy Monkey will open a 4500 sq foot breakfast through dinner restaurant with its main entrance on Market street in the Southside neighborhood. There will also be an entrance from the recently renovated lobby for convenient access for hotel guests.  STIR, an artisanal bar and premium oyster concept, recently opened in the space next door.

Frothy currently owns three full service breakfast through dinner restaurants, as well as a record store café and BAKERY by Frothy Monkey, all in the greater Nashville area. In 2014 Frothy Monkey began roasting its own coffee at its roasting and training facility at the INK Building in the SoBro neighborhood of Downtown Nashville.

Like their other locations, Frothy Monkey will be offering the Southside neighborhood the comfort of a coffeehouse with an expanded menu of offerings for morning through the day and into the night. The Chattanooga location will have equal emphasis on coffee, food and wine (as well as beer and cocktails). Unlike Frothy Monkey’s other locations, this space will be centered around a large bar that on one side will be a full service coffee bar and on the other, a full service bar serving wine, beer, and cocktails.

They are suckers for restoring old and historic spaces and will be working with Tennessee architect Mike Borgelt of Gobbell Hays Partners, Inc. again to rehab the space. “We are extremely excited to have Frothy Monkey part of the transformation and rehabilitation of this building. And, there is no better fit, not only for our guests, but also the Southside neighborhood,“ states Choo Choo owner Adam Kinsey. “The offerings of Frothy Monkey are unmatched in the city and their focus on terrific tasting, healthy, and local food will be a hit with locals and tourists alike.”

The Southside is bustling with art, culture, and entertainment, which have become identifying features of the neighborhood. “We are a neighborhood concept, and we want to grow in ways that fit our culture and the Frothy brand,” says Operating Partner, Ryan Pruitt. “We are looking forward to being a part of the revitalization of such a vibrant Chattanooga neighborhood.”
