A Fond Farewell to Frothy Monkey Knoxville

After nearly three years on Gay Street, we’ve made the difficult decision to close Frothy Monkey Knoxville. Our final day of service will be Wednesday, May 7, 2025. We hope you’ll stop by in the coming days to share one more coffee, meal, or moment with us.

This wasn’t an easy decision. After thoughtful consideration, we’ve decided to step away from this location due to potential property ownership changes on the horizon. We will use the opportunity to shift our focus toward the neighborhoods where Frothy Monkey is best positioned for long-term success.

“This decision allows us to streamline our efforts, reinvest in our teams, and position the company for continued growth and sustainability,” said Chief Manager Ryan Pruitt.

“Knoxville welcomed us with open arms,” added Jenn Sheets, Partner and Head of Marketing & Communications. “We’re incredibly grateful for the relationships, memories, and moments we’ve shared here. While it’s hard to say goodbye, we’re proud of what we built and thankful to have been part of this amazing community.”

We also want to express our heartfelt thanks to the neighbors, local artists, nonprofits, and businesses who made our time in Knoxville so special. From our friends at Visit Knoxville, Downtown Knoxville Alliance, Tennessee Theatre, Nourish Knoxville, and the University of Tennessee, to the creatives, collaborators, and neighbors at Dogwood Arts, Tennessee Artists Association, New2Knox, Bliss Home, Paris Woodhull Illustrations, and so many more—thank you for being part of our journey. Your support helped shape our presence in ways we’ll never forget.

While our Knoxville chapter is coming to a close, Frothy Monkey is still very much here—and growing. We remain committed to warm hospitality, thoughtfully crafted food and drink, and community-driven spaces in Nashville, Franklin, Chattanooga, Birmingham, and Homewood.
