If you haven’t heard the news, Frothy Monkey has opened our second Alabama location in Homewood! The newest addition to our all-day cafe locations is on Oxmoor Rd, just a short trip over the mountain from our Downtown Birmingham cafe.

Frothy Monkey cafes are open 7am—9pm daily** and offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Our restaurant features a full-service coffee program with specialty coffee drinks, a full cocktail bar, and beer and wine.
Come in for a meal, hang out and enjoy a coffee, or stop in for a bite on the go. Our Homewood location offers dine-in service and to-go ordering.
Bringing the family? Your little ones will be well cared for with a “Little Monkeys” menu and drink options like flavored milk steamers, juice, and house-made lemonade. (Of course, you can try the lemonade, too!)
We also offer cafe programming, such as Wine Down Wednesday and $4 Off Cold Brew Mondays! Look for new weekly events on our blog or Instagram.
The Vision for Frothy Monkey in Homewood, AL
When considering a new location, our leadership and management take many factors into account. Some questions we ask are, “Will our business support the needs of the community?” “Can we be a good partner to the existing neighborhood?” Our focus is to bring our restaurant to the neighborhood and create a meaningful place for connection.
We’re excited to support Edgewood with a new place for families and friends to gather, relax, and share our love for good coffee, food, and wine.
History in Homewood
You’ll always find unique history in Frothy Monkey buildings. We value historic preservation and only operate in pre-existing spaces.
The building we share with Oteys and Red Dot Gallery was most recently an antique store. For many years, though, this corner of Edgewood was home to a local grocery store. The images below show some of the past owners, Dixie Super Stores and A&R Foods.

Being a good neighbor is a part of who we are at Frothy Monkey.
Over nearly twenty years, we have seen an outpouring of love from our neighbors during exciting and uncertain times. In recent years, we’ve embraced our unofficial motto, “Take Care of Each Other.”
Take Care of Each Other encompasses so many aspects of Frothy Monkey. We support regional and local farmers and purveyors on our menu, engage in social outreach through our Frothy Community Funds, and often support local organizations and events in our communities.
On a daily basis, we encourage a culture of inclusivity and warmth while focusing on quality service and recipes for our guests. It’s about more than food or wine. It’s about taking care of each other.
