Frothy Franklin wins Preservation Award

We are honored and delighted to announce that Frothy Monkey in Franklin has been chosen to receive an Award of Merit from the Heritage Foundation of Franklin & Williamson County for the restoration work we did on our building. In conjunction with our neighbors at the Historic Franklin Presbyterian Church, we put a great deal of time, effort, energy (and money) into the project, and we are pleased to receive such significant recognition.

Built 102 years ago as the manse for the Historic Franklin Presbyterian Church, the building’s infrastructure has been entirely updated while maintaining the design and architectural integrity of the original dwelling.  Great care was taken to re-use as much of the home’s original materials and features as possible.  Staircases, hardwood floors, ceiling beams, window casings, doors, brick fireplaces, fixtures, trim: all were either restored or re-purposed to preserve and celebrate the building’s history and heritage.

Our own Ryan Pruitt accepted the award at the Foundation’s recent ceremony. His comments: “We couldn’t be more proud.  The Heritage Foundation’s mission of preserving the architectural, geographic, and cultural history is a worthy one, and we are pleased to help achieve those goals.  And making such a positive contribution to my hometown is exceptionally gratifying.”

General Manager Brittney Harrison says that guests appreciate the effort: “Frothy Monkey is all about being approachable and comfortable, from our coffee to our food to our service.  The physical environment we’ve created here just adds to the Frothy experience of community and craftsmanship.  We’ll proudly display this award in our restaurant.  Look for it on your next visit.”
