We proudly continue our spring selection of Brazilian coffees with this exceptional microlot from Felipe Croce of FAF Coffees. Felipe is the progeny of Marcos Croce and Silvia Barretto, who transformed FAF (Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza or “Environmental Fortress Farm”) into the renowned sustainable coffee producer it is today. Having been a part of the Barretto family since 1850, the farm was envisioned by Silvia and Marcos as a sustainable enterprise that respects both environmental and social facets while delivering top-notch coffee.
FAF began gaining recognition in the late 2000s within the specialty coffee community, culminating in a 2008 Sustainability Award from the Specialty Coffee Association. Felipe has been instrumental in this journey, being the first family member to dedicate himself full-time to the farm. He established a coffee lab where he meticulously studies various lots by their varieties and processing methods.
Similar to our previous microlot from João Hamilton, Felipe’s offering showcases the remarkable potential of coffees from this region. This naturally processed microlot is noted for its clean, sweet profile with tasting notes of creamy milk dud, the delicate acidity of yellow apple, and a nutty finish of walnut.
