The newest addition to our single-origin offerings comes from a familiar name in Costa Rica: Roger Ure?a Hidalgo, a producer we’ve been purchasing coffee from for four years. We’re excited to feature his white honey-processed microlot once again. The honey process, differing from traditional washed or natural methods, leaves the least amount of mucilage around the bean, providing a cleaner taste profile.

Roger, who began growing coffee with his father at the age of 15, has developed his expertise over 40 years, expanding his business to include 10 farms and his wet mill, Santa Teresa 2000, where he produces some of Costa Rica’s finest coffee. In 2019, Roger placed two coffees in the top 20 of Costa Rica’s annual Cup of Excellence competition. This coffee, originating from Roger’s Finca El Beto, is refreshingly sweet and smooth, offering notes of chocolate mousse, yellow apple, and praline.

The white honey processing imparts a slightly creamy mouthfeel with a crisp, delicate fruitiness that lingers after the first sip. Roger’s ongoing commitment to experimenting and improving his coffee each year is evident, and we’re very excited to share this exceptional brew with you.

What is Single Origin Coffee? Unlike coffee blends, Single Origin Coffee has a single geographic origin. This could be a single farm or a single country. For the majority of these coffees, we will have a direct relationship with the farmer who grows them. Because coffee is a crop, harvesting is seasonal and the timing is specific to each region, our selection of single-origin coffees will vary throughout the year.

Shipping Policy: Your order is important to us and we pack and ship as quickly as possible. Orders placed before 2pm CST Monday-Thursday are processed and shipped within 1-2 business days. All orders placed Friday – Sunday are processed on Monday and shipped within 1-2 business days.
