Our latest single-origin offering hails from the Huehuetenango region of Guatemala. Vides 58 is a family estate company with six farms situated in Huehuetenango, Guatemala, and boasts a state-of-the-art cupping lab in Guatemala City. Currently overseen by Renardo “Nayo” Ovalle Vides and his remarkable team, the Vides 58 legacy traces its roots back sixty years to 1958 when Jorge Vides, Nayo’s grandfather, laid its foundation.

Jorge’s family has diligently followed in his footsteps, and Nayo, the present manager and advocate for these farms, has devoted his efforts to diversifying varieties, enhancing quality, and advancing equipment. Working alongside a dedicated team of professionals, including his wife Jaqueline, a Q grader who dedicates much of her time to their impressive lab in Guatemala City.

In February, our Head Roaster, Daniel had the privilege of traveling to Guatemala, where Vides 58 Estate was among the producers he visited. After cupping multiple samples from this year’s harvest, the team decided to acquire this microlot, along with another upcoming single origin for the holiday season.

We are captivated by this Los Pinos microlot for its classic washed-process Guatemala profile. Coffees from this region are renowned for their chocolate and red fruit taste characteristics. This sweet and comforting brew reveals notes of Tiramisu, Red Plum, and Walnut. We are thrilled to introduce a coffee that we had the privilege of overseeing from its origin all the way to your cup.

What is Single Origin Coffee? Unlike coffee blends, Single Origin Coffee has a single geographic origin. This could be a single farm or a single country. For the majority of these coffees, we will have a direct relationship with the farmer who grows them. Because coffee is a crop, harvesting is seasonal and the timing is specific to each region, our selection of single-origin coffees will vary throughout the year.

To make it extra special, we commissioned local artist, Alicia Binkley of Monkey Ink Design to illustrate our Single Origin labels. Enjoy!

To provide you with the freshest product, all coffee is sold as Whole Bean by default. If you would like your coffee ground please select from the dropdown.
