Honduras Nahun Sanchez Geisha

Our newest release comes from the Agalta region in central Honduras and producer Nahun Sanchez. We rarely feature such fine coffees from Honduras, but this small-batch lot from Nahun is one we’ve been looking forward to all summer. This past March we had the opportunity to travel to the Agalta with our friends at Bridging Tables, a local coffee importing company based out of Nashville, TN. Our goal was to find a producer we could begin a relationship with, and Nahun was one whose coffee quality and leadership in his community caught our eye.

Historically, most of the quality coffees from Honduras come out of the Copan and Marcala growing regions. However, in recent years specialty coffee production out of the Agalta has started to become more and more common. Nahun is one of those producers in the region who is leading the charge and also helping other producers in his community produce higher quality coffee.

We’re so excited to feature a Geisha variety from one of Nahun’s farms, Finca Dos Hermanos. Geisha coffees are known for their intensely juicy and floral profiles and this lot from Nahun more than measures up to that standard. The flavor profile is perfect for the arrival of fall, as our team tastes notes of baked apples, chamomile and cola.
